Amazing design project: “50 AND 50 IS A CURATED PROJECT WHICH ATTEMPTS TO CONSTRUCT A HANDSOME NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT OUR COUNTRY. FIFTY DESIGNERS, ONE PER STATE, HAVE ILLUSTRATED THEIR STATE MOTTO, CREATING SOMETHING STEEPED IN HISTORY BUT COMPLETELY MODERN AND UNIQUE.”

Some of my personal favorite are below, need to get my hands the Michigan print for Alex and Pennsylvania of course. My only beef…. where’s Florida?!?!

See them here, buy them here.

Tonight my heart is in Maine- and after Alex sent these pictures- so is my stomach.
I miss new england and the coast. Growing up my mom took 2 weeks off every summer and winter- we threw a dart at the map and went! Those roadtrips were magical, it’s taken me way too long to appreciate what an incredible woman of a mother I have. The summer that I was 8 we chose Maine- the night before- literally. We headed up there (new puppy in tow), ate local food, stayed in beautiful cabins on the water and explored Arcadia National Park. I cannot wait to re-create these trips one day.
Pros: starfish covering the ocean floor right behind our cabin, exploring with my brother, cold nights, whale watching and hiking.
Cons: realizing the next day that all the starfish we plucked off the floor died without water, cold nights, and vomiting the entire whale watch. Tonight my heart is in Maine- and after Alex sent these pictures- so is my stomach.
